Unwanted Gods

April - Gareth

Along concrete steps, hundreds of ceramic models of Buddah and other Gods or religious deities are lined up. Leaves have fallen in amongst the statues, which gives a higgledy-piggledy view stretching up the steps.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, some feel it is bad luck to throw away a statue or image of a God - or at the very least, it is disrespectful. As such, a man in Hong Kong has given over a patch of land to "unwanted Gods". Any statues or images of deities people are struggling to find a home for can find a place on this cliff face, which now sees thousands of them, looking out to sea. This is just a tiny fraction of the collection.
