Normally my August picture is the view over Lee Bay from Lee Abbey - often with some kind of fiery sunset going on. Like this one.
However this year was a ~95% eclipse down at Lee Abbey and there wont be a similar eclipse (which is part of the Saros 126 family apparently) in Devon until 2044 with a total eclipse due in September 2090.
They are doing well - this is the next total eclipse in the UK. A total eclipse happens somewhere on the planet roughly every 18 months, but there hasn't been one in Bath since 1724 and wont be the rest of this century.
Anyway, it looked really cool and I thought I'd break with tradition. This is the eclipse at around its most extreme.
