Avalon Marshes, Somerset was a revelation. Over 4 days I visited different reserves and spotted more than 50 bird species, together with a stoat and many butterflies, moths, dragonflies and damselflies. The bird hides were well maintained and some had beautiful wildlife murals painted on the walls.
Avalon Marshes wetland area is one of the most important and largest in the UK. It’s managed by the RSPB, Natural England, South West Heritage Trust, Somerset Wildlife Trust, and the Hawk and Owl Trust.
