In July, we took a trip up to Scotland. Thankfully, we chose the week it was 35 degrees at home, while Scotland was enjoying a positively balmy 23 degrees. The grass was even green, which was a novelty by that point.
Highlights included visiting the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel, both genuinely incredible examples of engineering, and well worth seeing in person.
It was a wonderful trip, although there was one disappointment. The local fish and chip shop couldn’t sell us a deep-fried Mars bar because all their chocolate had melted in the heat.
Scotland. Too hot for deep-fried chocolate. Ironic, really.
