Binface

July - Tom

Miniature of Count Binface with two attempts at making a candle from him.
British politics is usually a dumpster fire, but sometimes you get an intergalactic space warrior in the mix to stir things up (and win 27% of the vote). Count Binface has been an interesting story this summer, and also has a weird relationship to Lord Buckethead.

Anyway, he has been available in miniature form for many years and now I'm attempting to make him into a candle. These are the first attempts - miniature on the left, first attempt on the right, second in the middle.

The second has an improved cloak and came out of the mould much more cleanly. This is partly due to better technique, but mostly a different wax blend, using microcrystaline wax for a tougher but more flexible output. Ruined the colour though.

The missing right arm is due to an air bubble, so I need to poke a vent in the mould for the next attempt.

Overall, not bad for a first attempt and some very nerdy chemistry games with the wax blend.

Both would be terrible candles if one actually lit them, of course.
