We flew back to Greece to visit my family in the last week of June. While we were there we took a trip to the National Archeological Museum in Athens city centre. The exhibits were stunningly beautiful, and it was amazing to think that people had the time and skill to make such ornate frying pans and hand painted urns some hundreds of centuries BC. Seeing all the archaeological finds (including some incredible jewelry and larger than life sized statues) really paints a picture in the mind of how people lived and how they might have looked and what the society might have been like.
