We visited Skomer this month to see the 55,000 puffins and 700,000 Manx Shearwaters. We saw many puffins but only dead Shearwaters as their burrows were located in the middle of the island and they only come out at night. The seagulls wait for them to emerge. It was rather sad to see so many corpses. Puffins galore. Stunning island. A bit scary ride over as it was rough and rainy and windy!
