Taken on a hot and sunny day beside Portugal’s largest dam. The Alqueva Dam is located on the Guadiana River in the southern Alentejo region. Completed in 2002, this massive arch dam is the largest capacity dam in Europe and its reservoir forms the largest artificial lake on the continent. They have this great sign on the top of the dam stating “On a clear day you can see forever.”
