Rooftop tulips

April - Helen

Giant pink and white lily-shaped tulips with the rooftops of the Randolph Hotel and clear blue sky.
Oxford's bar and restaurant scene has changed considerably over the past fifteen years. The traditional pubs snuggled between colleges remain, but rooftop bars and restaurants are now a bold addition, transforming places of old such as Boswell's department store into chic drinking spots and capitalising on views over the city's dreaming spires. On a sunny April afternoon, the Ashmolean Museum's rooftop restaurant overlooking the Randolph Hotel was filled with an amazing variety of tulips in celebration of the museum's 'In Bloom' exhibition. These giant 'Blushing Lady' tulips were my favourite.
