This sun halo was seen while out birdwatching this month and made an interesting sight with the aeroplane vapour trails criss-crossing it.
Sun halos are optical phenomena produced by light from the sun being reflected and refracted by ice crystals suspended in clouds in the atmosphere about 3 to 6 miles up.
