Year of the Snake

A gentle sunset

April - Sue

At the end of a great pre Easter stay in Clevedon, Somerset, I managed to capture the peaceful promenade just as the sun had disappeared into the sea. A string of white lights lit up the promenade and some colourful boats lay in wait to be used again. The tide was slowly rolling in over the pebbly beach. At the end of the prom the beautiful unspoilt Victorian pier jutted out like a piece of black picot lace over the sea. The sun had left subtle stripes of pink and blue caressing the horizon. There wasn’t a soul about, all was still. What a lovely sight on my last night there!
I was staying in Clevedon, Somerset, before Easter for a few days and managed to catch this peaceful scene as the sun had just disappeared into the sea. The tide was slowly rolling in, the boats lying in wait to be used again, and the beautiful Victorian pier jutting out over the sea like black picot-edged lace, totally unspoilt, much as it was when it was first built. An uplifting end to my final evening there.
