We finally visited Hele Cornmill, a local grade II listed, working watermill dating from around 1525. It has recently been refurbished by the owners who attended a course to learn how to lime-wash the rendering. In the outdoor ‘tearoom’ they sell delicious cakes, made with the flour they mill themselves. Worth a visit if you’re in North Devon, but do check the opening times.
