A day out to Ironbridge in Shropshire and we visited Blists Hill Victorian Town museum. This reconstruction of England in 1900 was completely rebuilt from original properties moved here brick by brick. It’s a great mix of shops, pubs, transport and work places with demonstrations by enthusiastic artisans. The streets were a bit cleaner than I guess was the case in 1900, but otherwise it’s a very realistic way to experience recent history.
